We want everyone to be able to discover our delicious gastronomy, so we’re delighted to provide tasty substitutions for most dietary restrictions.
Please notify us of your dietary restrictions upon booking in the “comments” section if you have dietary restrictions. Try to be as specific as possible (e.g. vegetarian but eat fish)

All of our food tours are vegetarian-friendly, but unfortunately, we can’t cater for vegans as it is not possible to serve vegan food at many of the places we visit.

Due to the risk of gluten cross-contamination, our tours are not recommended for those with celiac disease.

Of Course! both our Food Tours and Cooking Classes offer tasty substitutions for vegetarians. Please just  notify us of your dietary restrictions when you purchase your tickets in the “comments” section.

Our Food Tours and Cooking Classes serve enough food to be equivalent to a hearty lunch/dinner that will not leave you hungry. So far, nobody left one of our activities hungry!
For more details on what is sampled on each Food Tour/Cooking Class, please visit the specific activity page.

All the food (enough for a meal or dinner) and drinks are included in your ticket, as stated in each and every activity on our web and as ordered by the Food Sherpa. Any extra might be ordered, but paid apart by the client. In addition to food and drinks, our experiences also provide historical, cultural and architectural information about the places we visit and of course, the food. For more information on what types of food and drinks are served, please visit the specific activity pages.

Tour/Class Logistics related

Our public tours are carried out in English, but are as well available as private tours in French, German and of course, Spanish.

There is minimal location overlap between the Malaga Wine & Tapas Evening Tour and Taste of Malaga Tapas Tour

The Malaga Wine & Tapas Evening Tour and the Sunday in Malaga:  Tapas and Traditions Tour share some of the locations and/or tastings so we don’t recommend doing both tours.

If you have any questions about a specific tour, please contact us

Our Food Tours and Cooking Classes are carried out in areas which are partially or totally accessible. Our effort and concern when we design each Tour is to provide a service for all, valuing access conditions, circulation and facilities in each one of the establishments. Please check with us when booking, if you have any special requirements.

The meeting point for your food tour or experience will be provided upon booking. Our tours and classes are held within easy reach of all public transportation means.

Our weather is generally sunny with a few rainy days, but the tours are held rain or shine. We advise you to check the weather conditions for your tour date, dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if necessary.

The priority of these tours is that you can enjoy our gastronomy and get to know places otherwise difficult to discover. So in most of the cases it should be possible, but keeping always in mind the needs of the entire group! If it wasn’t possible, we would get you in touch with the establishment and give you directions to get there, once the tour is over.

For all our activities in Malaga, covered parking is available just in front of the meeting point called Parking Central located in Plaza de la Marina. Here is the link
in Google maps to the Parking

Yes!
On our Food Tours, bathrooms are available throughout the tour. Your guide will  let you know and remind you throughout the tour.
On our Cooking Classes you’ll have access to the bathroom in our kitchen at all times.

In general, our tours are quite active. We walk through the old town of Malaga and stop in several restaurants and shops. It is not always possible to have a seat, as this is part of our real Tapas Culture.
In our cooking courses you can always sit, but in the tours during the morning there is also a visit to the Atarazanas market included (about 1 hour). The cooking school is 10 minutes away.
Of course! We will send them to you by e-mail. So you can take a bit of Malaga home with you.

Unfortunately, strollers are not permitted on our Food Tours and our daytime Cooking Classes due to the crowds in the Market and tight spaces the food establishments we visit.
For private events, please check it with us when booking.

COVID-19 Safety on Spain Food Sherpas

Due to COVID-19 only our cooking classes in Malaga are currently not available.

We have reinforced our commitment to safety with the development of health protocols in line with the operational considerations for COVID19 risk management issued by relevant health authorities, namely , the Spanish government, the Andalusian government, the World
Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention with regard to restaurants and tours and trip operations.

  • We’ll make sure that the restaurants, bars, vendors and other locals we encounter are compliant with the safety guidelines provided by the health authorities.
  • Our Guides are trained on infection prevention and to know how to deal with guests presenting COVID-19 compatible signs or symptoms and emergency situations.
  • Any guide who feels unwell and/or presents even the slightest sign or symptom will not lead any tour until they are well.
  • Hand hygiene: Our guides will carry alcohol-based hand sanitizers and will provide it to our guests frequently.
  • Physical distancing is the most effective preventative measure. We have put in place measures to maintain physical distancing throughout most of the tour.

The use of masks in Spain is mandatory for tourists as well as residents indoors. The fine for not wearing one is 100€.

Exceptions will be made in situations where wearing a mask is “incompatible” such as when eating and drinking at bars and restaurants.

This means that wearing a mask on our tours, will be mandatory only when entering a bar or restaurant, and when going to the bathroom. Our guests will be requested to bring their own masks to the tour.

Check this interactive map to check the current restrictions that apply to each municipality of Andalusia.
